Welcome to Youth Ministry @ Santa Clara de Asis Catholic Church!

Youth Ministry is leading our youth closer to Christ.

Our youth ministry is a response of our Catholic Christian community to the needs of our young people, and the sharing of the unique gifts of youth with the larger community.

Santa Clara de Asis Youth Ministry Program is a fully comprehensive program following the “Renewing the Vision” (a document put out by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops). As a Parish Ministry we will concentrate on six signs of hope:

  1. Ministerial and Pastoral
  2. Relational
  3. Goal-Centered
  4. Multidimensional
  5. Holistic and Developmental
  6. People-centered and needs-focused
  • Who is it for?
    • Santa Clara Youth Ministry (SCYM) is also a multilevel ministry.

EDGE - Middle School Religious Education and Youth Ministry

LIFE TEEN - High School Ministry

Confirmation - High School Religious Education

After LIFE - Young Adult Ministry

We as a Ministry have 3 main goals to obtain.
      1. To empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today
      2. To draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the Catholic faith community
      3. To foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person
We have 7 themes that will be running through all our programs.
      1. Developmentally Appropriate
      2. Family Friendly
      3. Intergenerational
      4. Multicultural
      5. Community-wide Collaboration
      6. Leadership
      7. Flexible and Adaptable Programming
To ensure we are working in a fully Comprehensive Ministry, we also will be working through 8 distinct components.
      1. The Ministry of Advocacy
      2. The Ministry of Catechesis
      3. The Ministry of Community Life
      4. The Ministry of Evangelization
      5. The Ministry of Justice and Service
      6. The Ministry of Leadership Development
      7. The Ministry of Pastoral Care
      8. The Ministry of Prayer and Worship
  • When do we meet, and what do we do?
    • Our EDGE program will meet Friday nights from 7-8:30pm and is designed to provide the tools necessary for our middle school youth to develop a strong Catholic identity. Click here for our EDGE Calendar . Click here to see our EDGE Prayer.

Our Confirmation Program will meet on Sunday nights from 7-9:00pm and is designed for high school youth preparing for the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation, the final Sacrament of the initiation Sacraments. Click here for our Confirmation/LIFE TEEN Calendar

Both of these programs will concentrate on the catechetical teachings of the Catholic Church through Scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church as its two main resources. They are also experiential programs. Unlike the traditional classroom style teaching, both EDGE and Confirmation are taught through community involvement, community events, service projects and a family atmosphere with in their small groups.

Community prayer is also a way they develop their Catholic identity and spiritual life. LIFE TEEN is a program within our program. It is based on, focused on and directed toward the Eucharist.

Each week we celebrate the Liturgy as a youth community with in our greater Parish Community Santa Clara de Asis at the Sunday 5:00pm Mass. This Mass allows the youth of our Parish to step up as Alter Servers, Ushers, Greeters, Lectors, Music Ministers and even Eucharistic Ministers for those people already Confirmed and over the age of 18 years old.

Through LIFE TEEN we also put on LIFE Nights at least twice a month. Unlike the Confirmation Program, LIFE Nights are for all High School Youth, in the Confirmation program or not. It also gives the opportunity to invite uncatechised youth to our program to bring them to Jesus. We also celebrate XLT (EXALT) as a LIFE TEEN Community. XLT’s are evenings of adoration of the Blessed Sacrament that include personal testimonies from a speaker and contemporary praise and worship music.
